Medical Consulting Group, LLC, is seeking an HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. This generalist role will provide HR administrative support (recruiting, benefits, leave of absence, workers compensation) to clients by performing HR duties in a manner that complements the HR Department and the MCG business strategy.

Talent Acquisition:

  • Conducts appropriate screening of potential new hires – testing/employment verifications/background checks
  • Administers hiring activities for chosen new employees – prepares offer letters, initiates electronic employee self-service and/or paper new hire data collection, communicates hiring details internally
  • Assists with other recruiting/staffing activities/processes such as posting jobs, reviewing applications, updating job descriptions, etc.

Benefits Administration:

  • Compiles, maintains, distributes and communicates appropriate benefit documents, forms, enrollment packets, insurance cards, etc. (paper and/or electronic) – updates HRIS system (Paycom) &/or appropriate filing systems
  • Tracks, processes and submits new enrollments/changes/terminations (utilizing individual provider websites for submitting paperwork as appropriate)
  • Audits & approves monthly insurance bills (providing reconciliation assistance and problem resolution) &/or prepares self-bill activities
  • Oversees COBRA activities (assures proper administration of notifications, participation, updates, correspondence, and payments)
  • Provides assistance and/or research to employee questions/concerns regarding benefits/insurance (including claims resolution when necessary)
  • Submits Disability claims and manages continued procedures and reporting requirements throughout duration of claim
  • Helps prepare company-wide employee benefits communications (program changes; best practices; annual meetings; reminders; annual statement distribution; etc.)
  • Assists with annual open enrollment(s) (distributes materials from carriers; communicates changes to employees, tracks & submits changes to carriers and payroll; adheres to deadlines)
  • Assists with gathering census or other requested information for annual insurance renewal/shops (coordinating with Insurance Broker), annual testing (coordinating with retirement/401(k) providers), 5500 preparation/filing, &/or audit activities
  • Helps with administrative activities related to the Affordable Care Act (ACA)

Leave of Absence:

  • Prepares FMLA and /or USERRA and/or state-specific paperwork/correspondence for employees needing to take leave of absence
  • Communicates with requesting employee regarding eligibility and details of leave of absence
  • Coordinates communication between employee & manager regarding rights and plans of leave
  • Serves as liaison with insurance providers as appropriate
  • Tracks premium payments & coordinates re-payment in the event of missed premiums

Workers Compensation:

  • Documents first reports of injury for workers’ comp incidents
  • Coordinates medical attention and drug testing when required
  • Communicates with workers’ comp insurance carriers regarding open cases/claims
  • Supports annual audit activities

Assist with Payroll Function:

  • Assures benefits deductions are properly maintained within payroll system
  • Provides check-back for payroll processing changes as needed
  • Serves as back-up for regular payroll processing duties in absence of Payroll Specialist

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or other business-related field; or equivalent combination of education and HR related work experience highly desired
  • One or more year’s previous HR Generalist job experience preferred
  • Knowledge of employee benefits, talent acquisition with ability to acquire knowledge of government regulations/laws in multiple states
  • Customer focus with helpful attitude and sense of urgency
  • Accountability with strong commitment to follow up and meet deadlines
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) with an aptitude for utilizing HR Technology (Paycom and ADP, highly preferred)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization
  • HR and/or Benefits related certification highly desired.
