Role:

Responsible for assisting and supporting the VP of Human Resources and the Training and Recruiting Specialist in all facets of human resources including benefits administration, recruiting, policy implementation, reporting of information, employee relations and coordination of training for employees.
 
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Assists with the day to day administration of benefit programs, 401(k), including enrolling, terminating and modifying employee benefit coverage.
- Maintains files, forms and database information associated with personnel, benefits, general information and recruiting.
- Coordinates employee relations issues with VP of Human Resources to affect prompt and appropriate resolution.
- Handles requests for verifications of mortgage, employment, benefits, and other employment information
- Prepares monthly report which reflect headcount, new hires, terminations, and turnover rate.
- Routinely audits Company-owned personnel files and employment law postings for accuracy and adherence to established guidelines and applicable federal and state laws
- Follows through on all resumes and applications received for Credit Union positions to ensure that proper correspondence is sent to applicants. Maintains resume and application database.
- Assists in recruiting qualified candidates through advertising, approved recruiters, and other recruiting sources.
- Interviews and assists in the selection of qualified candidates to fill vacant positions. Conducts or requests recruiters to conduct employment verifications and reference checks and obtains criminal background checks prior to extending an offer to candidates.
- Performs new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward Credit Union goals.
- Maintains acceptable attendance record in accordance with established policy outlined in Employee Handbook.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
 
Knowledge and Skills:
 
Experience - One year to three years of similar or related experience. 
 
Education - (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree). 
 
Interpersonal Skills - Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
